Since opening its doors in 2000, the Maritime Museum has allowed the local community to learn about Santa Barbara’s aquatic history.

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum is being honored with the Non-Profit of the Year distinction at the 12th Annual Regional Business Awards this afternoon.

Founded by a group of fishermen and sailors, the museum has successfully shared the diverse maritime history of the Santa Barbara Channel.

Since opening its doors in 2000, the community has been able to experience aquatic culture without leaving the harbor.

The Santa Barbara Region Chamber of Commerce is hosting today’s awards luncheon, which will take place at the Four Seasons Biltmore.

Other honors will also be awarded, including:

  • Large Business of the Year (American Riviera Bank, Carpe Data, CIO Solutions, Village Properties, Zoom Video Communications)
